Bureau of Economic Analysis

This site contains international, national, and regional economic data for the US economy. Examples of types of data included balance of payments, exports and imports, investment, gross state product, state personal income, per captia personal income, and projections of employment, income and GSP.

County & City Data Book

This site gives the user access to the 1988 and 1994 County and City Data Books. Social, income, housing, labor, and various other types of data are available. Good for intercensal estimates of census-type data for US states, counties, cities, and places.

County Business Patterns

This site contains county level business data for all counties in the US for the years 1977-1995. Data is arranged by the Standard Industrial Classification system, and is aggregated at the Major Group (2 digit SIC) level. Includes variables sucha as number of employees, payroll, number of establishments, and establishments by size class.

FedStats

This site provides a variety of statistics and information from over 70 different government agencies. Some of the topics are agriculture, demographics & economics, crime, education, energy & environment, health, and labor.

Government Information Sharing Project

This site provides access to several data bases including 1996 USA Counties; 1990 Census of Population and Housing; 1992 Economic Census; Census of Agriculture: 1982, 1987, 1992; US import and Exports; School District Data Book; Consolidated Federal Funds Reports; and REIS 1969-1996.

Kids Count: Annie E. Casey Foundation

KIDS COUNT is a national and state-by-state effort to track the status of children in the U.S. Available is the 1998 KIDS COUNT data online which includes profiles, ranked lists, graphs and maps for the U.S. and its states. Also are links to state-level contacts involved in the KIDS COUNT program.

Regional Economic Information System (REIS)

This site includes economic data from 1969-1996 on several froms of personal income and earnings and full time and part time employment for all regions, states, metro areas and counties in the US.

Sources of Socioeconomic Data for Economic Development

This site provides links to more than 100 socioeconomic data sources including data from the Bureau of Economic Analysis, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Census Bureau, state and local agencies, and commercial and non-profit agencies.

United States Census and Demographic Data

This site provides many interesting links to data resources. Some of the links include an animated population pyramid, a 1990 demographic profile generator, census bureau pop clocks, demographic data viewer, glossary of census terms, the EASI quick reports and analysis, and much more.

United States Historical Census Data Browser

Various census data for each state and county from 1790 to 1970 is available. You can choose year and variables, state, county, graph a variable or view a table. Very good, easy to use site for historical census data.
